I was appointed as a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at The University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire in 2000 with a subspecialty Interest in Upper Limb Surgery especially Shoulder and Elbow Surgery.

Before this my surgical training was undertaken in London and my Fellowship Training immediately prior to my Consultant appointment was undertaken as the De Puy Shoulder Fellow at Wrightington Hospital. 

I have also been awarded my Master of Surgery (M.S.) for research in nerve repair and regeneration undertaken at Edinburgh University. Since taking up my consultant post I have developed a particular interest in arthroscopic reconstructive shoulder surgery with an emphasis on Sports related injuries and I have also built up a large tertiary referral practice for complex reconstructive surgery especially post trauma.

I also perform a large number of Shoulder and Elbow Joint replacements and I am one of Tornier UK centre’s of Excellence for Total Shoulder Resurfacing.   I regularly teach on national and international courses and I particularly enjoy teaching practical arthroscopic skills as one of the original faculty members of the Watanabe Group.

I have treated a wide variety of athletes of all abilities and I have worked as one of the Upper Limb Surgeons to the British Gymnastics Team and BOA.

I am the Lead Clinician for Shoulder and Elbow Research at Warwick University regularly publishing research in International peer-reviewed Journals. I also conveve the Warwick Sports Shoulder course a bi-annual conference which is one of only 2 conferences in the UK to deal exclusively with Sports related Shoulder injuries.
